Recently, the world football governing body Fifa allowed the use of goal-line technology. The technology helps the referee determine when the ball has crossed the goal line.
Similar technology has been in use in other sports including tennis and cricket for years.
So far, Fifa has approved the HawkEye and GoalRef systems, which are based on cameras and magnetic fields respectively.
